Birgit Jürgenssen recognized her desire to become an artist at a quite early age. As an eight-year-old, she "copied" images by Pablo Picasso into an exercice book. What is notable here is that she fused Picasso's name with her own- "BICASSO Jürgenssen"- and thus staked her claim within the sphere of the symbolic order that reached far beyond her (...) (engl.).
