Die Monografie von Kerstin Cmelka spannt einen Bogen von den frühen Experimentalfilmen über die fotografische Bearbeitungen von Filmstills, Werbe- und Produktionsbildern bis hin zu ihren unter dem Titel »Mikrodramen« bekannten Performances.

Diese Buch kombiniert den Charakter eines Künstlerbuches mit dem einer Monographie. Die eingebundenen, gefalteten Poster basieren auf acht Farbfotografien der Künstlerin. Die beiden Motive auf Vor- und Rückseite korrespondieren miteinander und verleihen dem Buch einen spielerischen Aspekt.

Joan Jonas, geboren 1936 in New York, ist Künstlerin und Dozentin. Ihr Werk umfasst Performances, Videos, Installationen, Skulpturen und Zeichnungen. Sie lebt überwiegend in New York.
