Jeder filmische Moment ist eine Schnittfläche komplex verbundener Tätigkeiten. Zu ihnen gehören ein grafisches, deutendes und organisatorisches Handeln ebenso wie die Spekulation, die Kontrolle und der Kontrollverlust über Licht - und Bewegungsimpulse.

Um die Auswirkung der langen Belichtungszeit bei Porträtaufnahmen zu kompensieren, wurden in den Anfängen der Fotografie die Porträtierten mittels Kopfklammern (headrest), speziellen Stühlen und anderem Gestänge «ruhig» gestellt. Mit ihrer Arbeit reflektieren die Autoren diese fotohistorische Kuriosität.
