(Handschriftlich, Spanisch)

'In his travel notebooks and journals Juan Borchers simultaneously uses drawing as a method for observation and as a way of architectural thinking. The world appears, in these notebooks, as overflowing with lessons in architecture. These journals reveal the way landscape has marked Borchers, and how this intimate experience is transformed into an itinerant system of autonomous learning. [...] Borchers’ journals disclose traces of his proto-ecologic reflections and his conception of architecture as a living creature. Every detail, from the membrane of a small leaf to the geo-architectonic movements of the earth’s crust, seems to reaffirm the organicist maxim that ‘everything is in everything’. D7 offers a partial glimpse of Juan Borchers’ universe through a selection of his journals dating from the 1950s. These pull together fragments of his pursuit of ‘elemental forms’, through a life of inquisitive peregrination and open attentiveness.' (Quelle: www.vaticanochico.com)
