FACES OF ATHENS sheds light on the consequences of the collapse of the social and healthcare system in Greece following the implementation of the austerity measures imposed by the EU finance ministers.

The texts are based on interviews conducted by Bernhard Hetzenauer in 2016 at three social clinics in the greater Athens area that are exemplary of the enormous Greek solidarity: in Elliniko, KIFA Piraeus and KIFA on Omonia Square. In 23 personal fragments, volunteers and patients talk about life in and with the crisis, the end of which is not in sight.
