Hidden Histories – Secrets of the Land
€ 20.00
In Hidden Histories – Secrets of the Land, artist and writer Fiona Heron provokes a deep sense of a shared human experience.
At times enriched and coloured by nostalgia and then crisply filtered through deft twists of language, these poems are informed by nature and context, exploring history, place humanity and time.
The writing illustrates and links physical and spiritual ‘jewels’ resulting from conversations with five people living near to an Anglo Saxon burial site discovered in Clobb’s Row, Chelmsford in 1888, from the artefacts unearthed from the hoard (now in the British Museum), and the artist’s subsequent sculptural responses on the excavation site.
