A three-part catalog box has been published to accompany the three solo shows of Jean-Luc Moulène (born 1955, lives in Paris) in Bourges (F), Hannover (D) and Rome (I), respectively.
The first volume includes for the first time images of the complete series of “Disjunctions” – a photographic series from the 1980s to 1990s, which clearly illustrates both the artist’s sculptural but also her photographic eye. The works were displayed autumn 2014 in the Centre d’Art Transpalette in Bourges, and are accompanied in the book by a text by Damien Sausset.
The second tome features the show in Kunstverein Hannover, which presented a cross-section of his oeuvre. An essay by Jens Asthoff expands the view of exhibition curator Kathleen Rahn, providing another analysis in German.
Finally, the third volume with a text by Eric de Chassey refers to Moulène’s exhibition with primarily new sculptural works in Villa Massimo in Rome. Complementing each other the three books provide a broad, in-depth and fascinating insight into Moulèn’s work. The texts are printed in the native language of the respective country and an English version.
