The English-language paperback selected by Wolfgang Tillmans contains transcriptions of lectures by the Indian philosopher Krishnamurti (1895-1986). The motif of the dust jacket designed by Wolfgang Tillmans
adopts the typography of the original cover and thus protects the portrait photo printed on it, which was taken of Krishnamurti by Sir Cecil Beaton in 1971. This “book from the artist's library” will become “his” book through the Ex Libris designed by him and will be filed under his name in the library of collectors and bibliophiles.Books that have long been out of print thus become source works and contribute to the understanding of the work of contemporary artists. The term “artist's book” thus takes on an entirely new dimension.
