"Dossier sans suite" is the first part of a work in progress by Marisa Cornejo-Kasterine. It invites us to reflect critically on asylum and refugee status, while introducing us to the human and legal situation of people experiencing this condition. The artist opens a dialogue between stories of yesterday and today, inviting the viewer to approach this reality in both temporal spaces.
In 2005, the artist Marisa Cornejo moved to Geneva, where she retrieved from Mexico the archives of her father who had died in exile to Europe. In 2008, she produced her first artistic project “Dossier sans suite,” based on the exile archive. It was her first exhibit, in which she addressed directly the problematics of forced migration.
The book comes with a poster: "Symptômes de l'exile. A selection of dreams by Marisa Cornejo."
