The Prix de Rome, which was instituted two hundred years ago by Louis Napoleon and accommodated in the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam in 1870, is the Dutch art und architecture award for artists under the age of 35. Its purpose is to trace talent ant to pinpoint trends in an international context.

PRIXDEROME.NL presents individual portraits of ten young and talented artists, with particular attention to the four finalists.The intense selection process for the bicentenary of the PRIXDEROME.NL 2009 is followed step by step by Moosje Goosen, nominated for the Prize for Young Artist Critism 2008.
