Die Ausstellung und das begleitende Buchprojekt erproben eine künstlerisch und kuratorisch motivierte Kartographie der sakralen Stätten Wiens. Der Globus, spezifischer das verkleinerte und kugelförmige Modell des Himmels und seiner vielzähligen Sternenkonstellationen, ist unser Anfangsbild, unsere Präambel: die Existenz ist ohne Blick in den Himmel und die Frage, was dort denn sei, kaum denkbar. Die Stadt zeugt in diesem Sinn vom Sein und das Werden einer facettenreichen Zivilgesellschaft mit unterschiedlichsten Glaubensbekenntnissen und ist strukturiert von einer topologischen Ordnung der spirituellen Praktiken. The exhibition and the accompanying book project try out an artistically and curatorially motivated cartography of the sacred sites of Vienna. The globe, more specifically the scaled down and spherical model of the sky and its numerous star constellations, is our initial image, our preamble: existence is hardly conceivable without a view of the sky and the question of what is there. In this sense, the city bears witness to the existence and development of a multi-faceted civil society with the most diverse creeds and is structured by a topological order of spiritual practices.
