Road Works

Roadworks are actions of temporary and unintentional public art.

Photography simply documents graphic compositions, like photograms on asphalt, of an installation work that is materially designed by the operations of road workers, in this case along Viale Monza in Milan in May 2014. Therefore the aesthetic outcome is result of of a work subject to quite different purposes, for this reason it’s expression oft he sociotechnical unconscious that produced it.
