Sonic Playground was designed and published on location during a 3-hour SPEELPLAATS workshop at the Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem, Netherlands. This thick volume was conceived as a "visual mix-tape" inspired by the band Sonic Youth and features photocopies of interviews with the band members, writings, performance stills, and album covers.

Participants include Joris van Aken, Alex & Hugo DeArmond, Jaan Evart, Marc Hollenstein, Jeremy Jansen, Hyo-Jung Kwon, Maxine Kopsa, Julie Peeters, Astrid Seme, Stephen Serrato, Julie van Severen and Dries Wiewauters.
