State of Sabotage was founded as a sovereign state on the uninhabited Finnish island Harakka by the Austrian artist Robert Jelinek in August 2003. They have a flag, stamps, coins, and an anthem. But particularly the passport (designed by Austrian artist Heimo Zobernig) triggered a dynamism which catapulted the artists’ state all of a sudden into the field of political reality.

Jelinek veröffentlichte beim "Unternehmen Tagebuch" während eines Monates in verschiedenen österreichischen Zeitungen private Botschaften in Telegrammform.

“The Media Mystery Theater”, borrowed from Hermann Nitsch´s work and press book “Das Orgien Mysterien Theater” documents for the first time the international media activities of the art label, focusing primarily on medial perception and presentation, as well as on art pranks, guerilla media, and fake campaigns.

"Sabotage does not mean destroying economical or political goods, but to disturb and manipulate human activities and incite reaction. These ideas are developed out of observations and studies on behaviour. Many ideas are developed through dialogue with scientists,physicians, researchers and shamans some of whom stay in contact with certain projects for many years."

"Subetage" is an English-language non-fiction work featuring interviews with and about Sabotage comrades-in-arms. For the first time, strategies in the music sector, nasal perspectives, design and fashion tactics, future operational objectives, and free-land zones are discussed in interview-like conversations.
